Having received the news, earlier this month, that Milly Briggs and Rafe Duffield's 500 words stories were selected to go through to the second round of the 500 word competition, we have just heard that they unfortunately didn't make it through to the top 50 stories.
We are incredibly proud of them and the competition was fierce, with a huge number of entries this year. The Reading Agency, who selected the Top 50 stories from the 5000 longlist were hugely impressed with the quality of those stories which made it through the first round of the competition. The standard in the second round was exceptional. They had a GREAT time marking the stories, so all of our writers should feel very proud.
The good news is that there’s still a chance to win the random prize draw, which could get us some amazing book prizes for our schools!
Well done Milly, Rafe and all of the children in Key Stage Two who took part in the competition.
