Year 3 and 4

Welcome to Year 3/4 Eucalyptus Class!

We are delighted to welcome everyone to Eucalyptus Class!

Starting a new year is always full of possibilities—new friendships, new learning and new adventures. To mark this fresh beginning, we’ve chosen the eucalyptus plant as our class name. It’s an unusual and fascinating plant that has captured our curiosity, and we’re eager to investigate it further. The eucalyptus also symbolizes growth and health—values that we hold dear in our classroom and school. We hope to nurture these qualities in everything we do this year. Eucalyptus trees are known for their refreshing scent, resilience, and unique features. We were intrigued by how different and special this plant is, and we’re excited to explore its secrets together.

Each term, we will share a Termly Overview (see below) outlining what the children will be learning in class. This not only allows you to track their learning journey, but also gives you the opportunity to select areas you’d like to develop further at home or use to extend your child’s learning in a way that suits your family.  You are free to do as much or as little homework as feels right for your child.  All efforts—big or small—will be celebrated and valued in class.

Reading

At our school, we encourage regular reading at home to support your child’s learning and development. Children are encouraged to read at home at least three times a week, and each reading session should be recorded in their reading record book. This helps us support your child’s reading progress in school if reading hasn’t been completed at home.

We’re here to support you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

We hope Eucalyptus Class will be a place where we grow strong roots, stretch our branches, and blossom with knowledge. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
