Marvellous memories of Marrick Priory

Our residential visit to Marrick Priory was a truly enriching experience for the children, offering opportunities to challenge themselves, build friendships, and enjoy the great outdoors. From high ropes to night walks, each activity sparked confidence and joy. The children returned with wonderful memories—and plenty to say! Here are some of their reflections, capturing the spirit of adventure and togetherness that made the trip so special.

“I found the activities a lot of fun and challenging at the same time.”

“I liked the night walk because when we turned the torches off, we got to see the stars and thank you for keeping me safe.”

“My three favourite activities were archery, climbing and abseiling.  My favourite out of all of them is abseiling.  I loved ringing the bell and floating through the trapdoor like a fairy and I even overcame my fear of heights.  When I was climbing I did not o high at all but I’m still proud of myself and it was a good experience.  I love archery because I hit the target first.”

“I loved the food it was some of the best food I’ve had.”

“I want to express what a good time I had when I came to Marrick priory.  Thank you for helping me have stronger connections with my friends and teaching me how to use a bow and arrow.  I enjoyed the game where each colour on the target was an ingredient to make a cake.”
