Ambition
Vision Statement:
At Sharow School we promise to flourish together.
What this means:
To do this, we aim to provide an educational experience that lasts a lifetime.
Pupils will receive a broad and deep curriculum that prepares them for secondary school and their role in the world. They will have access to experiences that are memorable and formative which they will remember years from now.
Staff will feel supported to progress their career and that the school is an inspiring place to work that values their contribution.
Parents will have confidence that the school is well-run, and a safe, happy, ambitious place for their child.
School leaders will have a direct impact on the growth and sustainability of the school, helping to create a culture where everybody flourishes together.
Strategic Priorities
Over the next 3 years, school leadership will invest time and resources into the following priorities to make progress towards our ambition.
1. Secure school sustainability
- What: Put the school on a pathway to sustainable finances, setting a strong platform for stability and growth in areas such as staffing and school structure.
- Why: We are not able to achieve our ambition of flourishing together without a strong foundation from which to build.
2. Invest in staff
- What: Ensure that staff are valued and have the required skills to design, implement and assess an ambitious curriculum.
- Why: A school is only as good as its staff. Pupil progress and attainment is largely a result of the education they receive. This will ensure pupils will receive an excellent education.
3. Invest in the school’s behaviour and culture
- What: Implement a relational approach to school behaviour and culture consistently across the school.
- Why: A calm and supportive atmosphere where everybody is clear on how we treat others and ourselves is key to educational outcomes.
