Year 3 and 4 had a truly memorable visit to Sinai Synagogue in Leeds. The children were warmly welcomed and had the chance to explore some very special aspects of Jewish life and tradition.
We saw real Torah scrolls up close and learned about how they are written and cared for.
A Rabbi read from the Torah, and we listened carefully to the beautiful Hebrew words.
Everyone enjoyed dressing up in traditional clothing, helping us imagine what it might be like to take part in a synagogue service.
We learned about the importance of bread in Jewish rituals and saw some delicious challah.
During our visit, we also got creative and made our own mini Torah scrolls – complete with tiny handles and Hebrew letters!
It was a fantastic day full of learning, creativity, and respect for different cultures and beliefs. A big thank you to everyone at Sinai Synagogue for such a warm and inspiring experience!
