What has happened at Sharow This week
What an action-packed and uplifting week it has been here at Sharow School! Children from Years 1 to 6 represented us brilliantly in the Cross Country competition at Outwood Ripon. They demonstrated resilience, determination and superb team spirit throughout, securing an impressive 3rd place—just one point behind 2nd. Every runner gave their all, and we couldn’t be prouder of their collective effort.

Our Year 3 and 4 pupils took centre stage mid-week, performing their wonderfully imaginative show: Sir David Hattenscarf and the Wonders of the World. Despite last-minute cast changes and the challenge of performing without a dress rehearsal, the children triumphed. With spitting llamas, roaring tigers and a whirlwind trip around the world, they brought humour, creativity and courage to the stage, delighting everyone who came to watch.

We were also fortunate to gather as a community for our Easter Service at 2:15pm. Led thoughtfully by Years 5 and 6, the service included fantastic singing and reflective moments that highlighted the values we share as a school. Reverend David supported the children beautifully as they guided us through a meaningful and memorable celebration together.

To round off this remarkable week, Sharow’s Got Talent showcased the extraordinary range of abilities within our school. From drumming and singing to magic tricks, fact-sharing, sign language, horse riding and more, our pupils impressed us with their confidence, courage and composure. Special congratulations go to Bea and Henry, who were crowned this year’s winners—an outstanding achievement in a competition full of talent.
