Adams Class – Year 5 and 6
In Adams class, we are the role models for the school. We are kind, caring and hard-working, and we try our best every day. We love to ask questions to develop our understanding and are resilient when faced with challenges. Our inspiration this year comes from Nicola Adams MBE – the first female boxer to ever win an Olympic gold medal.
“Believe in yourself, and you’ll be unstoppable” (Nicola Adams MBE)
Homework:
In Year 5/6 our children are expected to complete the following tasks each week as homework:
- Read to an adult a minimum of three times a week and have this recorded in their reading record;
- Practise their weekly spellings;
- Complete two Reading Plus sessions;
- Practise their times tables.
It is important that all children in Y5/6 know all multiplication tables and their division facts so regular practise of these is encouraged through regular revision as well as tasks on Hit the Button and TT Rock Stars.
Reading is the cornerstone to all learning and as such is a focus for homework tasks.
There may on occasion be extra homework as appropriate to the learning in school.
